The Brevard Cultural Alliance, under a series of grants from the State of Florida, Division of Cultural Affairs, places visual and performing artists in local elementary schools each year for the purpose of supplementing the arts curriculum.

Percussionist Ed Eliason has been awarded residencies for both spring and fall semesters in 2007, where he has worked with first through sixth grade music students at Palm Bay and University Park Elementary Schools. He also taught percussion at the 2007 Summer Arts Camp, sponsored jointly between the BCA and Brevard County Parks & Recreation.

Recreational Music Making Programs

Recreational Music Making (RMM) is the fastest growing segment of the music industry, according to NAMM. We offer community rhythm circles for families, singles and seniors, as well as community events and festivals.

We also provide programs which utilize the research-based HealthRHYTHMS protocol for everything from corporate team building and stress reduction, to working with at-risk youth and patient/support groups who are dealing with a variety of long-term illnesses.

These sessions are designed to help you have fun making music, regardless of whether or not you have any previous experience. All instruments are provided – just show up and be ready to smile a lot.

Please visit our Rhythm Circles page for more detailed information.
