A sophisticated three-piece group (guitar, bass and percussion) which plays a variety of smooth and traditional jazz, rhythm ‘n blues, and funky favorites. John Carpenter’s guitar expertise, combined with the electric upright bass of Dave Pawlowski, and a plethora of hand percussion instruments played by Ed Eliason, will delight you with many familiar melodies, masterfully re-worked into fresh, new arrangements.

The unique sound of “Gypsy Jazz”, made popular by the late Django Rhinehart, is re-created by brothers Jason and Ian Cook. This acoustic music is as lively as it is innovative, and should not be missed.

His repertoire includes everything from swing to rock oldies and pop standards for dancing and listening. And always joined by his soulmate Elizabeth on hand percussion.   Throughout the 1960s, “ The Impalas” were one of the hottest top-40 bands in the Philadelphia area. Rick Jeffreys and Danny Cain, the founding members, continued their successful careers throughout the 1970s when they went on the national show band circuit as “Catch Five”. Today, they live and work in the Orlando area, and continue to thrill audiences with their musical talent and pure showmanship. The 1965 line-up included bassist Fred Bonsall, drummer Ed Eliason and saxophonist Jim Hetherington. Bonsall and Eliason got the bright idea for a reunion recently while talking on the phone, and the rest is show-biz history. On Thursday, March 15 th, four of the original “’65 Impalas” will perform at Kissimmee’s Old Town, where the oldies never die. For more information, contact Ed at 321-626-0684.
